Privacy policy
This site has no accounts, no ads, and sells nothing about you. Last updated October 29, 2026.
Visit statistics
We use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, roughly where visitors are (city or region), what device and browser they use, and which site sent them. It sets cookies to tell a new visit from a return one. Google Analytics doesn't keep your IP address. We use these numbers only to decide what to improve. You can block them with Google's opt-out browser add-on or any tracker blocker; the site works the same.
Messages and condition reports
When you use the contact form or report a condition at a beach, what you type (and your name and email, if you give them) is sent to us by email. The site itself doesn't store it. We use it only to answer you or to check the report, and we never share it or add you to a mailing list.
Services that load parts of the page
- Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it sees your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces.
- OpenFreeMap and USGS supply map and aerial images when you open a map.
Each sees the request your browser makes, under its own privacy policy. Your browser also keeps the latest conditions for 30 minutes in the open tab, so pages load faster. That copy holds no personal information.
